Navigation Layouts

Different outlets run differently. A takeaway counter does not need Tables where a dine-in restaurant needs it first. Location Settings → Navigation lets you set what the navigation shows for everyone at that Location.

Owners, Admins, and Managers assigned to the Location can change it.

What you can set

• Order the web nav bar. Drag destinations into the order your team actually works in.
• Group and hide behind More. Anything you do not need daily goes into the labelled More menu rather than competing for the top row.
• Set the mobile dock and rail default. The starting arrangement for phones and tablets at that Location.

Changes apply to everyone working at that Location, so a new server sees the same shape as everyone else on their first shift.

Staff can still arrange their own mobile

The mobile default is a starting point, not a lock. Staff can rearrange their own phone dock, and the More list follows their own arrangement rather than the default, so nothing is listed twice or lost.

The web nav bar order is the Location's, not each person's.

What each person sees

Navigation is filtered before it is ordered. A person only ever sees destinations their plan, the Location's feature catalog, and their role permissions allow. Ordering a destination near the front does not reveal it to someone who could not open it anyway.

Tablet rail

On tablets the navigation is a left rail rather than a top bar. The rail sizes itself to the window, showing as many destinations as fit and listing the rest under More — so the last destination is never cut off mid-icon, and the brand mark does not scroll away under a thumb.

Global search and the launcher

Two ways to reach something not in front of you:

• Search in the top bar finds across your workspace.
• The launcher opens a permission-aware, three-column list of every workspace you can open, grouped by what you are trying to do.

Both respect the same permission filtering as the nav bar.
